Searching a postcode does not identify you

The property search on this site sends only the postcode to the national register and shows you what comes back. We do not store the postcode, the result, or anything about you. No account, no email address, no cookie.

The addresses and certificates shown are already public records published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. They are not ours and we do not keep a copy.

What we collect when you book

Your name
to know who we are meeting
Email and phone
to confirm the appointment
Property address
to attend, and to lodge the certificate
Property details
to price the job and prepare
Access notes
only what you choose to write

We do not ask for, and do not want, anything about your health, finances or household circumstances. Please leave that out of the notes field.

Why we are allowed to hold it

We do not send marketing email, and we do not add booking customers to any list.

Who else sees it

Only these, and only to the extent needed. None of them sell your data or use it for their own purposes.

Vercel
hosts this website
Neon
database, hosted in London
Resend
sends the confirmation emails
ECMK
our accreditation scheme, for lodgement and audit
MHCLG
operates the national register

Some of these are US companies whose services may process data outside the UK. Where that happens it is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Our database is in London.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it — a court order, or a request from a regulator we are obliged to answer.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that never became bookings
12 months
Booking and contact records
6 years after the work
Assessment records
as required by ECMK
Accounting records
6 years, as HMRC requires

Six years matches the limitation period for a contract claim in England and Wales — it is how long someone could bring a claim about work we did, so it is how long we need to be able to answer one.

The lodged certificate itself is a permanent public record held by MHCLG. We cannot remove it, and neither can you.

Cookies

This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies, and there is no tracking pixel. The only cookie is a sign-in session for the administrator, which is strictly necessary and set only on successful sign-in.

Your rights

Email riverstoneeco@gmail.com and we will respond within one month, at no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first, but you are not obliged to.

Changes

If this notice changes materially we will say so here and update the date at the top. See also our terms of service.
